The Pennsylvania Military and Government Counseling Association (PMGCA) is a division of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association. We support and advocate for counselors who work with military members, veterans, and employees of federal, state, and local government agencies—including first responders and public safety officers.

Mission and Purpose
- Provide meaningful guidance, counseling, and educational programs for military members, veterans, government employees, and their families.
- Provide professional development and training to association members.
- Develop and promote the highest standards of professional conduct among counselors and educators working with the military, veterans, government workers, and their families.
- Advocate for appropriate and effective treatment for military members, veterans, and their families.
- Promote accessible guidance, counseling, and educational programs for Armed Services members, their families, and civilian employees of state and federal government agencies.
- Encourage the development of professional monographs and presentations for conventions and conferences serving military and government counseling communities.
- Promote high standards of professional conduct among counselors and educators serving Armed Services personnel, veterans, and employees of state and federal government agencies.
- Establish, strengthen, and maintain communication between military and government organizations and the general public.
- Share best practices, training opportunities, and resources to better serve veterans, first responders, and government employees.

Membership
Membership is open to individuals who work in counseling or have a primary interest in the profession. You may add PMGCA membership when completing or renewing your PCA membership. PMGCA dues are an additional $10 annually, and active PCA membership is required. Current PCA members may request to add PMGCA by emailing
