Interstate Counseling Compact Passes Pennsylvania General Assembly

We are excited to share that Senate Bill 604, legislation authorizing Pennsylvania to join the Interstate Counseling Compact, has officially passed both chambers of the Pennsylvania General Assembly and is now headed to Governor Josh Shapiro's desk for his signing into law.

If signed into law, Pennsylvania will become the 40th member of the Interstate Counseling Compact, expanding access to mental health care while increasing professional mobility for licensed professional counselors.

This milestone would not have been possible without the leadership of our legislative champions, Representative Jen O'Mara, sponsor of the House companion bill (HB 668), and Senator Lisa Boscola, prime sponsor of SB 604, along with the support of many bipartisan legislators who recognized the importance of expanding access to mental health care across the Commonwealth.

Thank you to every PCA member who contacted legislators, participated in advocacy efforts, and helped move this legislation forward.
