PENNSYLVANIA MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS ASSOCIATION
A D
IVISION OF THE PENNSYLVANIA COUNSELING ASSOCIATION

What is the PAMHCA?

The Pennsylvania Mental Health Counseling Association (PAMHCA) is a division of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) for professional counselors who specialize in mental health (a.k.a. "community") counseling.

It's estimated that between 2,800-3,000 mental health counselors live and practice in the Keystone State (many of whom have obtained the state's new LPC license for practicing outside the school setting).

PAMHCA is a recently reactived division with a board of directors and recent by-laws. PAMHCA is presently accepting new members. Please contact PAMHCA at maryannbaron3@yahoo.com

AMHCA Launches Electronic Petition for Mental Health Awareness Stamp

The American Mental Health Counselors Association is pleased to launch a website petition for a Mental Health Awareness Commemorative Postage Stamp.

Fours years ago AMHCA’s Public Awareness Committee created the stamp project as a simple and powerful way to help Americans become more aware of the importance of good mental health.

Obtaining the approval of the Citizen’s Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC) for a new stamp is a long-range project. More than 20,000 signatures have been collected to date. National recognition needs to be given to the impact that good mental health has on peoples’ lives.

The basic characteristics of mental health include courage, integrity, tenacity, and inspiration.

Please visit www.amhca.org and click at the PETITION.

Every signature counts!

“The mission of the American Mental Health Counselors Association is to enhance the profession of mental health counseling through licensing, advocacy, education and professional development.”
