PENNSYLVANIA ASSOCIATION OF SPECIALISTS IN GROUP WORK
A D
IVISION OF THE PENNSYLVANIA COUNSELING ASSOCIATION

What is the PASGW?

The Pennsylvania Association of Specialists in Group Work (PASGW) is a division of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) for professional counselors who have an interest in issues related to the group counseling modality, but currently in inactive status.

Many professional counselors who live and practice in the Keystone State are actively engaged in group counseling work (many of whom have obtained the state's new LPC license for practicing outside the school setting), yet presently, Pennsylvania lacks a PCA division for them due to the PASGW's inactive status.  However, the PCA would like to change that.  We want to see a PCA division that once again provides Pennsylvania's group counseling-oriented professional counselors opportunities to network, to participate in professional development activities, and to socialize!  But we need your help!

How Do I Join?

Given the fact that the PASGW is in inactive status, it's technically not possible to "join" the PASGW at this time.  That said, the PCA is taking names for a list of prospective members.  PCA by-laws require that at least 15 names be compiled in order to (re)apply for a charter.  Once we obtain 15 names, the next step will be to draft a set of PASGW by-laws.  (In order to view the PCA by-laws, you'll need to use the [free]  Adobe Acrobat Trademark  document reader.)

If you're a professional counselor who has an interest in issues related to the group counseling modality and would like to add your name to that list--and we hope you do--click on the picture of Pennsylvania's famous Liberty Bell below to send an e-mail message to us (be sure to include your name, phone number, and e-mail address):
