PAAOC
PENNSYLVANIA ASSOCIATION OF ADDICTIONS & OFFENDER COUNSELING
What is the PAAOC?The Pennsylvania Association of Addictions & Offender Counseling (PAAOC) is a division of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) for professional counselors who specialize in substance abuse counseling. It's estimated that over 2,700 substance abuse counselors live and practice in the Keystone State (many of whom have obtained the state's new LPC license for practicing outside the school setting). This is in addition to the several thousand paraprofessionals--those with a bachelor's degree or less--who make an important contribution to substance abuse treatment. We provide these substance abuse counselors opportunities to network, to participate in professional development activities, and to socialize! To join the PAAOC:Membership in the PAAOC requires that you also be a member of parent association PCA, itself. If you are not already a PCA member, you should complete a PCA Membership Application, which can be down-loaded or completed on-line. PCA annual dues for Professional and Associate members are $60, and PAAOC dues are $10 ($5 for Student members). For more information on the PAAOC, please contact Dr. Paul West at pwest1604@comcast.net
