NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA COUNSELING ASSOCIATION
A R
EGIONAL CHAPTER OF THE PENNSYLVANIA COUNSELING ASSOCIATION

What is the NPCA?

Susquehanna Co., PA's Salt Springs State ParkThe Northeastern Pennsylvania Counseling Association (NPCA) is a regional chapter of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) for professional counselors, but currently in inactive status.  The NPCA covers the Northeastern Pennsylvania region of Bradford, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Montour, Northampton, Orange (NY), Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.

It's estimated that between 3,300-4,400 professional counselors live and practice in this region, yet presently, Northeastern Pennsylvania lacks a PCA regional chapter due to the NPCA's inactive status.  However, the PCA would like to change that.  We want to see a PCA regional chapter that once again provides Northeastern Pennsylvania professional counselors opportunities to network, to participate in local professional development activities, and to socialize!  But we need your help!

How Do I Join?

Given the fact that the NPCA is in inactive status, it's technically not possible to "join" the NPCA at this time.  That said, the PCA is taking names for a list of prospective members.  PCA by-laws require that at least 15 names be compiled in order to (re)apply for a charter.  Once we obtain 15 names, the next step will be to draft a set of NPCA by-laws.  (In order to view the PCA by-laws, you'll need to use the [free]  Adobe Acrobat Trademark  document reader.)

If you live and/or practice in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region and would like to add your name to that list--and we hope you do--click on the picture of Northeastern Pennsylvania's popular Wise® potato chips below to send an e-mail message to us (be sure to include your name, phone number, and e-mail address):
