Graduate Student Leadership InitiativeThe Pennsylvania Counseling Association has undertaken an initiative that will provide the opportunity for master-level students to become involved with PCA leadership. Counselor training programs in colleges and universities across Pennsylvania have been invited to recommend student leaders from within their programs who have an interest in participating in PCA governance. Each year up to 5 students will be selected to participate in this year-long endeavor. Students will have the opportunity to attend Council meetings, participate in the preparation of the annual budget, review the PCA bylaws, and participate in the planning of the annual conference, and participate in selected projects undertaken by PCA or any of its divisions or chapters. Throughout this experience, students will also be mentored by a PCA leader. All donations collected for this project will be used to support the student leaders. The major expenses will include travel to Council meetings and expenses related to attendance at the annual PCA conference. Colleges and universities, Chi Sigma Iota Chapters, and PCA Divisions and Chapters are encouraged to contribute to this initiative. Donations should be sent to the PCA Treasurer and earmarked as contributions to the Graduate Student Leadership Initiative. All contributing organizations will be recognized at the annual conference and on the PCA website. It is our hope that this initiative will result in the development of individuals that can assume leadership positions within PCA and help the organization grow and prosper. If you have any questions concerning this project, please contact Dr. Paul L. West at paul.west@alvernia.edu. Nominating Process Invitation Letter - 2008
