CAGP

COUNSELING ASSOCIATION
of GREATER PHILADELPHIA
A REGIONAL
CHAPTER
OF THE PENNSYLVANIA COUNSELING ASSOCIATION
What is the CAGP?
The Counseling Association
of Greater Philadelphia (CAGP) is a regional chapter of
the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) for
professional
counselors, but currently in inactive status. The CAGP covers the Philadelphia metro area of
the City of Philadelphia and suburban Bucks, Burlington (NJ), Camden (NJ), Chester, Delaware, Gloucester (NJ),
Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Salem (NJ) counties.
With a population of a little more than 5 million, Philadelphia is
Pennsylvania's largest metro area (and 5th in the U.S.). An
estimated 10,600 professional counselors live and practice in the City
of Brotherly Love and its suburbs, yet presently, Philadelphia lacks a
PCA regional chapter due to the CAGP's inactive status. However,
the PCA would like to change that. We want to see a PCA regional
chapter that once again provides Philadelphia area professional
counselors opportunities to network, to participate in local
professional development activities, and to socialize! But we need
your help!
How Do I Join?
Given the fact that the CAGP is in inactive status, it's
technically not possible to "join" the CAGP at this time. That
said, the PCA is taking names for a list of prospective members.
PCA by-laws
require that at least 15 names be compiled in order to (re)apply for a
charter. Once we obtain 15 names, the next step will be to draft a
set of CAGP by-laws.
If you live and/or practice in the Philadelphia metro area and would
like to add your name to that list--and we hope you do--click on the

name, phone number, and e-mail address):
