Welcome to the Pennsylvania Counseling Association's Consumer Information page.  According to the PCA Mission Statement, "... the purpose of the association is to enhance human development throughout the life span ...."  This page is one way that we strive to meet that goal.  We hope that it provides you, the mental healthcare consumer, with some valuable information and resources.

  • ADD Resources - a U.S. non-profit organization run mostly by adult volunteers with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); dedicated to supporting, educating, and serving as a resource for people with ADHD

  • Join Together On-Line - a U.S. resource center for communities working to reduce substance abuse and gun violence

  • Mental Health Matters.com - a user-friendly mental health information directory of all psychological disorders, including research, alternative treatment, self-help, support, and statistics; includes a free newsletter

  • National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) - a U.S. organization that provides a forum for family researchers, educators, and practitioners to share in the development and dissemination of knowledge about families and family relationships, establishes professional standards, and works to promote family well-being

  • National Mental Health Association (NMHA) -  the U.S.' oldest and largest non-profit organization addressing all aspects of mental health and mental illness; works to improve the mental health of all Americans, especially the 54 million individuals with mental disorders, through advocacy, education, research, and service

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation (OCF) - a U.S. non-profit organization composed of people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders, their families, friends, professionals, and other concerned individuals
