What is ARCA—PA?

The American Rehabilitation Counseling Association—Pennsylvania (ARCA—PA) is a division of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) for professional counselors who specialize in rehabilitation, or "rehab," counseling, but currently in inactive status.

It's estimated that over 4,800 rehab counselors live and practice in the Keystone State (many of whom have obtained the state's new LPC license for practicing outside the school setting), yet presently, Pennsylvania lacks a PCA division for rehab counselors due to ARCA—PA's inactive status.  However, the PCA would like to change that.  We want to see a PCA division that once again provides Pennsylvania rehab counselors opportunities to network, to participate in professional development activities, and to socialize!  But we need your help!

How Do I Join?

Given the fact that ARCA—PA is in inactive status, it's technically not possible to "join" ARCA—PA at this time.  That said, the PCA is taking names for a list of prospective members.  PCA by-laws require that at least 15 names be compiled in order to (re)apply for a charter.  Once we obtain 15 names, the next step will be to draft a set of ARCA—PA by-laws.  (In order to view the PCA by-laws, you'll need to use the [free]  Adobe Acrobat Trademark  document reader.)

If you're a professional counselor who specializes in rehab counseling and would like to add your name to that list--and we hope you do--click on the picture of Pennsylvania's famous Liberty Bell below to send an e-mail message to us (be sure to include your name, phone number, and e-mail address):
