April 29, 2008 - The Pennsylvania State University has announced a number of trainings for Summer 2008.  Dr. David Capuzzi, past President of ACA,  is offering a 2-weekend session on Couples and Family Counseling May 9,10 and May 16, 17 at the Penn State- Harrisburg campus.  Other 2 and 5 day trainings will be offered at various Penn State from May 19 - August 12 as part of the Professional Development in Counseling Summer Institute titled Counseling At-Risk Clients: Best Practices and Emerging Techniques for Practitioners.

April 23, 2008 - The North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) 56th Annual Conference will be held June 26 - 29 in Harrisburg.  More information is posted on the Professional Development page.

April 1, 2008 - This is not an April Fool's joke.  Our conference dates for 2008 are October 24 - October 26 at the Penn Stater in State College  The dates that have been published (October 31 - Nov 2) are for the 2009 conference.

March 22, 2008 - Letters have been sent to colleges and universities across Pennsylvania for nominations to the Graduate Student Leadership Initiative (GSLI).  The application process and the 2008 letter can be found on the GSLI webpage.

March 15, 2008 - The Call for Programs for the 2008 PCA Conference has been posted on the conference page.  The link for on-line registration will be active on or before June 1.

March 5, 2008 - The Pennsylvania College Counselors Association is providing a workshop on Suicide Prevention on April 11 at Shippensburg University.  Check the PACCA webpage for more details.

February 22, 2008 - The time has come to nominate and elect a PCA President - Elect. If you know of someone you would like to nominate or would like to place your own name in nomination for this position, please contact Joan Kaylor  at joankaylor@hotmail.com

February 13, 2008 - Recent action by the PCA Executive Council has provided the framework for PCA to begin an Employment Opportunities service to PCA members.  This service will be available for those seeking employment and those wishing to list counselor or counselor educator openings.  Watch the Member's Section for more information.

February 3, 2008 - The ACA Conference is scheduled to be held in Pittsburgh in 2010. We are looking for individuals interested in serving on a committee to host this event. If you are interested, please contact Joan Kaylor at joankaylor@hotmail.com.

February 3, 2008 - It is that time of year when we begin to look for candidates for elected positions within PCA.  This year we are looking for qualified, enthusiastic candidates to be placed on the election ballot for the position of President-Elect.  If you know of anyone that you would like to nominate or would like to place your own name in nomination for this position, please contact Joan Kaylor, PCA Past-President and Nominations Committee Chair at joankaylor@hotmal.com.

January 18, 2008 - Please note that the dates for the PCA Conference for 2008 are October 31 - November 2. 

January 18, 2008 - The password for the member's page will change on February 1, 2008.  To get the new password, please contact Colleen Tracey at pacounseling@yahoo.com, Holly Branthoover at hbranthoover@comcast.net, or Paul West at pwest1604@comcast.net.  All of these individuals have current membership lists and can help you out.  The new password information will be listed on any new membership cards issued.

January 18, 2008 - Ami Hooper-Knox has accepted an appointment to the LPC licensure board.  This means she will have to resign her position as Secretary of PCA.  According to the bylaws, The PCA Executive Council will appoint a replacement for the remainder of her 3-year term.  The next PCA Executive Council Board meeting will be held on February 8.  If you meet the requirements for this position (see PCA By-laws) and would like to be considered for such an appointment, please contact Dr. Paul West (Paul.West@alvernia.edu or 717-290-1430) before this meeting.

January 18, 2008 - Room rates for the 2008 annual conference have been posted.  Last year the block of rooms sold out early and some people had to find alternate accommodations and pay more for their rooms.  If you know you are going to attend the conference, book early.

May 30, 2007 - Changes to the Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Statute have been included as an amendment to the LPC law.

November 8, 2006 - An updated version of the PCA Bylaws has been posted reflecting changes in Division structure.  Similar changes to Chapter and SIG structure are in the process of review.
